Where your story is worth telling.

Why Porch Steps?

Sitting on the front porch conjures images of warmth and familiarity, of story-telling, wisdom and possibility. You feel at ease while you reflect, process and dream.

That's what you will find here: a place to unpack the past, transform the present and look joyfully to the future.

Welcome to Porch Steps Counseling

Where your story is worth telling.

You Have a Story

. . . and I want to hear it.

I love seeing growth and facilitating healing. I love being a part of and witness to your story.

But what if you don’t understand the story you’re in? What if you hate the story up to this point? What if this current chapter feels never-ending? This is where hope becomes your most important asset.

Hope is the fuel we need to begin; hope is the motivation to keep walking when the road feels too long, too steep, and too lonely. Hope is what I hold for you.

When you commit to therapy, I am confident that you can experience these things in yourself:

  • A changed perspective

  • A rediscovered purpose and power

  • A sense of meaning and identity

  • A reawakened spirit

  • A new direction

This is why it is such a privilege to walk with you.

This is why I would love to hear your story. . .

And help you write the next chapter.

Nervous about therapy?

I get it. I’ve been a nervous client, too. Deciding to engage in therapy is a big step. You are finally ready for something to change so you make the appointment, the day arrives . . . and you think, “Why did I decide to do this again?” “What if my therapist is a weirdo?”

I would encourage you to come to that first appointment.

  • It’s ok to do it scared.

  • It’s ok to do it with a hundred questions and with a heavy dose of doubt.

  • It’s ok if you just want to find out if I’m a weirdo!

We will figure it out together. Let’s sit and chat.
